Bicycle Built for Nine to Serve as Transportation at Political Conventions
A bicycle built for two is not a common sight, but how about a bicycle built for nine? That’s what will be featured at this year’s political conventions to get the politicos and attendees to travel where they need to be.
Humana Inc., a company focused on health and well-being, is bringing back the legacy Freewheeling bicycle program (in the form of people-powered pedal buses) across Tampa and Charlotte in order to provide convention attendees a healthy, environmentally friendly and social method of transportation around each convention city.
Here’s the skinny:
· Humana will provide 20 Freewheelin pedal buses at each convention, offering free transportation at designated bus stations throughout each city.
· Each pedal bus can shuttle up to nine people along designated routes throughout Tampa and Charlotte as an alternative means of transportation.
· Six of the riders will collectively pedal the bus, working together to move the bus (it’s easy) while getting in some exercise, socialization and reducing the carbon footprint; the other three riders can sit back and enjoy the ride!
· Anyone who would like to utilize the Freewheelin pedal buses can simply visit one of the Freewheelin stations located throughout Tampa and Charlotte, which will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Freewheelin stations will also feature complimentary biometric health screenings such as blood pressure and BMI, complimentary fresh fruit, healthy snacks and cold water, and health and wellness magazines for shaded reading.

Love the idea of seeing 9 politicians try to pedal together!
